MANILA, Philippines— Fire of still unknown origin hit a commercial building in Makati City Thursday afternoon, the city fire department said.

The fire at Campus Rueda Building on Urvan Street started at 3:36 p.m. and has reached Task Force Bravo as of posting time.

At least 20 fire trucks have been deployed to the site.

It was a sad event. I walked from home to work today due to the fire - thankful still that even if my feet hurt, i was not there to experience the said event. We frequent Chiggy's to eat also Sukina to drink after work. While passing through the street awhile ago, i was enveloped by the thought of not having to see chiggy's and sukina open everyday when I walk to and from work. There were at least 20 fire trucks in the area. At least 50 firemen were there to help and 100 "usisero" people looking at the extent of the damage. I even saw a fireman climbing up the building to kill the fire completely.

My feet hurt. But i cannot imagine how much pain the owner, the personnels and the customers who were affected felt when the fire started. My condolences!
